Sam is a Designer at Architecture 101 with a Bachelor of Architecture from UNC Charlotte and is currently pursuing her Master of Architecture at SCAD. She is drawn to thoughtful, human-centered design and finds particular inspiration in Savannah’s walkable streets, intimate scale, and the way architecture can encourage connection and community.

A hands-on designer at heart, Sam loves translating ideas into physical models and believes making by hand is one of the best ways to understand how something should come together. Her bright, colorful personality may suggest otherwise, but she is never afraid to pick up a 2x4, get to work, and figure something out along the way.

Outside the office, Sam is highly social and happiest when she is surrounded by friends, whether she is hosting people at home, heading out for trivia, or making her much-loved barbecue chicken pizza. She is also the office’s designated Swiftie, narrowly holding the title over Angela thanks to a cardigan collection that gives her about a three-cardigan lead. More broadly, she is a lifelong music lover and can usually be counted on to know and sing every lyric playing overhead in the office.

Sam also has a soft spot for animals. When she is not spending time with her black Lab, Nova, or her cat, Sirius, she can often be found pet sitting or walking someone else’s four-legged family member. Running and crafting round out the list of things that help keep her creative and recharged.
